The Team Behind the Business
I didn’t start in residential construction. I started on the numbers side. Back in 2013, I was working in construction finance and accounting with Hilton Grand Vacations. My job was to understand budgets, track costs, and see where projects either stayed on track or quietly drifted off course. That’s where I started to notice something: projects didn’t go over budget because people didn’t care, most of the time, it came down to a lack of clarity early on.
In 2017, I earned my degree in Construction Management and stepped into large-scale development, joining Universal’s Creative team to work on Epic Universe. I was responsible for back-of-house infrastructure, utilities, site coordination, and making sure multiple trades were aligned and moving together. That experience changed how I look at construction entirely.
Before construction, I played drums professionally in the themed entertainment world. What I loved about that was bringing different elements together to create something people could experience. Construction is no different. You’re coordinating people, timelines, materials, and budgets to bring someone’s vision to life.
After earning my Certified Residential Contractor license in Florida, I founded McCall Custom Builders in 2023. My goal was to bring the planning and project management standards of large-scale developments into a more personal setting: building homes.
As a husband and father, I understand that a home is more than a project. It’s where life happens, and that perspective shapes every build we take on.

Founder and BuilderMike manages budgets, timelines, subcontractor coordination, and quality control on every project. With a background spanning construction finance and large-scale resort development, he brings a level of planning most residential builders simply don’t have. He is your main point of contact from start to finish.
